Meet The Studio Fellows:

Maryem Bendaud

Flutist, Maryem Bendaoud is a soloist, chamber musician, and educator. A native Floridian, she performs with several ensembles in the area, including DuVachki Woodwind Quintet, El Trio Mio, and the South Florida Flute Orchestra. Her most recent solo appearances have been at Jureit Musicales, Boca Raton Museum of Modern Art, Max Planck Neuroscience Institute, and the Treasure Coast Flute Festival. Maryem is an avid teacher and maintains a private studio teaching young aspiring flutists.

Stephanie Jaimes

Stephanie Jaimes is a genre-bending cellist and founder of Folk-Jazz Duo, Strings Attached. Based in South Florida, Stephanie has shared the stage with some of the top artists in the industry, from Jennifer Lopez to Pitbull to Wyclef and many more. She regularly performs with several symphony orchestras around the world, including selling out stadiums on a two-year stint with the Trans Siberian Orchestra. Stephanie is also a passionate educator. She is a Teaching Artist for El Sistema based organization Miami Music Project where she teaches music to at-risk youth in Liberty City and Little Haiti.

Alexander Ishov

A Miyazawa Emerging Artist, Alexander Ishov enjoys the thrill of challenging expectations and widening comfort zones. Advocating for diversity in and out of the concert hall, he seeks to broker new connections between performers and audiences while integrating artists into their surrounding communities. Dedicated to chamber music, his recent engagements include concerts with Ensemble Signal, the Eastman BroadBand, and the JACK Quartet. He is equally comfortable as an orchestral flutist and has performed in concert halls around the world, from the Kennedy Center to the Mariinsky Theater to the BBC Proms and many more.

Leigh Anne Neal

A multifaceted clarinetist, Leigh Anne Neal celebrates styles from classical, punk, funk, and improv in her playing. Drawn to the combination of historical fiction and poetry with sound, her presentations are realistic and inspiring. As an artist, Leigh Anne believes it invaluable to create new work and ideas as often as possible. As a teacher, she encourages her students to discover their own strength and creativity through an exhaustive exploration of sound and self. Leigh Anne resides and teaches yoga and music in Atlanta, GA. She owns a yoga studio called Nirvana Yoga where she offers a regular weekly schedule in addition to her private music students.

Lucia Galarza

Lucía Galarza was born in Barcelona, Spain to Ecuadorian parents and follows a musical legacy five generations strong.  An accomplished chamber musician, she’s participated in some of the top festivals in the country, including the Sphinx Performance Academy and Carnegie Hall’s digital music production workshops. Her eclectic inclination towards cello led her to being selected by NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts to attend the Future Music Moguls workshop and GrammyU. Lucía gives back to her community by devoting time as the development intern at INTAKE Music, an organization that strives to make classical music relevant, accessible, and inclusive through native instruments and repertoire.

Andrew Bustamante

Hailing from San Diego, CA, Andrew Bustamante is a multi-genre Flutist with a passion for classical, jazz, EDM, and many other styles of music. Andrew has served as Assistant Principal Flutist in The Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra, Principal Flutist in both of the Harry Potter Soundtrack Orchestra’s sold out performances at the Berklee Performance Center, recorded for Patrick Doyle and other film scoring sessions, performed in numerous jazz ensembles, and more. From open mics to studio work and small jazz duos to large orchestras, Andrew is comfortable no matter where the bandstand may be.

Carlyn Hendler

A native of Austin TX, flutist Carlyn Hendler makes regular appearances with the Omaha Symphony flute section as a dependable and expressive substitute. Ms. Hendler made her concerto debut in 2015 with Omaha’s Heartland Philharmonic Orchestra in a performance of Lowell Liebermann’s Concerto for Piccolo. Carlyn is currently an Instructor of Flute at Schmitt Music and also maintains a private studio in the Omaha metro. Ms. Hendler is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree in flute performance at the University of Nebraska at Omaha under the tutelage of Dr. Christine Erlander Beard. Her previous teachers include Maria Harding, and Seetha Shivaswamy.

Kevin Maddox

Pianist, Kevin Maddox is a Miami native who was mentored by jazz legend Ira Sullivan, and since then has been performing professionally around the world. Over the course of his professional career he has performed alongside many renowned artists including, Plain White T's, Jay Sean, Cris Cab, NBC’s The Voice contestant Niki Dawson, and many more. He is currently the pianist with Latin Grammy-nominated artist, Manu Manzo. Kevin is the co-founder of folk-jazz duo, Strings Attached. The duo has performed at such notable places as Lincoln Center Education, SoFar Sound Miami, & Clazz Music Festival in Arcidosso, Italy.
